Whether we’re custom-fabricating a new window or repairing components of an existing one, we use high-quality vertical grain fir (VGF) that mimics the strength and durability of old-growth wood. This ensures that the new windows have the same strength and durability that helped the old windows last 50 to 100 years or more!

Contact our team to schedule a visit with one of our technicians. We’ll examine your windows, discuss your goals and timeline, and recommend the best approach — whether that’s onsite repairs, in-shop restoration, or a combination of both. You’ll receive a detailed, transparent proposal outlining options and scope.

Work Begins

Once approved, our team gets started. Depending on your project, we’ll complete repairs right at your home or building, or carefully remove select windows for restoration at our Portland or Seattle shop. Either way, we keep your property secure, clean, and weather-tight throughout the process.

Completion &
Fine-Tuning

When the work is finished, we reinstall and adjust each window for a perfect fit and smooth operation. Hardware is cleaned, tuned, or replaced with matching parts to ensure your home or building’s windows look beautiful and function reliably for years to come.

Project History

Chosen Wood Windows was founded in 1998 in Portland, Oregon, by Vern Forrest. Since those early days, we’ve expanded our business to serve the entire Pacific Northwest, including Oregon, Washington, and other areas, both rural and urban.

In addition to our local projects, we have had the opportunity to take on projects from across the country as well as commercial restoration projects for some of our nation’s landmarks throughout the country.

    Should I Repair or Replace My Wood Windows?

    At Chosen, we will always try to salvage as much of the original window as we can. That said, sometimes damage has gone too far, structural integrity is compromised, and the safest option is to create and install a new wood window.

    When looking at your damage, think about whether it impacts a small area or the entire window. Your current windows may be salvageable, in which case we’d suggest a wood window repair. If not, we’re happy to help create and install custom windows that fit your home’s original style.
