Repair vs Restoration

Repairs are just one piece of a restoration process. Typical repairs target a problem area like broken glass, damaged hardware, or replacing a broken part. Our restoration process is more of a holistic approach that repairs functionality while also focusing on restoring the aesthetics and historical significance of the original window.

Older Steel Windows Rust, Corrode, and Make Buildings Less Efficient

  • Steel windows that have been exposed to the elements have a tendency to rust, corrode, and become less functional  over the years.
  • Without proper repair, refurbishment, or replacement, this can lead to costly water damage and expensive utility bills.
  • Steel window restoration allows you to keep the same look and feel, while enjoying modern improvements like better insulation, noise reduction, and improved air quality.
The Chosen Solution

The Chosen Solution

Each commercial building is unique, and that’s how we approach every step of our process. We work with building owners to create customized repair plans that restore your steel windows to their original condition. Chosen is the steel window restoration contractor of choice, and we’re proud of the work we do to restore these architectural gems.

We Can Restore Your Existing Steel Windows or Provide High-Quality Replacements

  • Steel windows are known for their durability, but they aren’t known for being well-insulated. Luckily, glass has improved over the past few decades, and we’re able to replace panes with double- or even triple-pane glass with special glazings to help ensure that your building’s temperatures stay under control.
  • Depending on the current state of your metal windows, we may need to treat or replace sections with corrosion or deterioration. In doing this, we can maintain the style of the original windows with respect to the original craftsmanship of the building.
  • In some cases, we are able to refurbish using the existing materials and can boost the efficiency of your vintage windows with less invasive work.
  • We work on all steel window styles, including casement, single-hung, fixed, and more.

    FAQS

Can You Restore Rusted or Corroded Steel Windows?

Yes. For minor surface rust, we can grind and refinish the original steel. For corrosion or more significant damage, we are able to splice the original with compatible replacement products to restore structural integrity to the window. Once our refinishing is complete, it will match the original style and look of the windows.
